Relevant standards for hollow fiber membrane modules
Jan 06, 2026| China has established a relatively complete standard system for hollow fiber membrane modules, covering module performance, testing methods, etc. The relevant standards are mainly under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Standardization of Separation Membranes (SAC/TC 382).
Important current standards include: HG/T 5111-2025 "Column-type Hollow Fiber Membrane Modules" (implemented on March 1, 2026, replacing HG/T 5111-2016) and GB/T 42281-2022 "Hollow Fiber Membrane Modules for Membrane Aerated Biofilm Reactors (MABR)" (implemented on July 1, 2023).
Other relevant standards include: GB/T 25279-2022 "Hollow Fiber Curtain Membrane Modules", HY/T 061-2017 "Hollow Fiber Microfiltration Membrane Modules", HY/T 062-2002 "Hollow Fiber Ultrafiltration Membrane Modules", and other module product standards; as well as performance testing method standards such as GB/T 40258-2021 "Evaluation Method for Corrosion Resistance of Hollow Fiber Membranes to Chemical Cleaning Agents", GB/T 38902-2020 "Determination of Cross-sectional Dimensions of Hollow Fiber Membrane Filaments - Image Analysis Method", and GB/T 38511-2020 "Evaluation Method for Service Life of Hollow Fiber Membranes". Some earlier standards, such as HG/T 5111-2016 "Column-type Hollow Fiber Membrane Modules", have been replaced by newer versions.
