Transportation Of Hollow Fiber Membrane Modules
Dec 07, 2025| Used membrane modules must be thoroughly cleaned before storage to remove surface contaminants. They should then be immersed in a specialized protective solution, which should be changed regularly. Before reuse, the protective solution should be drained and the membrane modules rinsed thoroughly with an alkaline cleaning agent.
For short-term shutdowns, the membrane modules can be run briefly daily to replace any remaining water with fresh water. For long-term shutdowns, the system must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Then, a specialized protective agent should be injected into the membrane modules, and all inlet and outlet ports should be sealed. The protective agent can be prepared using a specific ratio of water, glycerin, and sodium bisulfite.
During transportation, membrane modules should be protected from severe impacts, direct sunlight, rain, and mechanical damage. Special attention should be paid to antifreeze measures during transportation in cold regions. Handle membrane modules with care to avoid damaging the membrane fibers by contact with protrusions.
