Tangential Flow Filtration (also known as cross-flow filtration) is a separation process where the feed stream flows parallel to the membrane surface rather than through it. This continuous sweeping motion drastically reduces particle buildup (gel layer formation) on the membrane, maintaining high flux rates and extending membrane lifetime.
