Classification Of Clarifiers

Gravity sedimentation clarifier: A gravity sedimentation clarifier clarifies water by allowing suspended solids to settle naturally under gravity. It is suitable for treating large volumes of water and large planktonic organisms.

Media clarifier: A media clarifier filters and removes suspended solids using a filter medium. Common filter media include quartz sand, ceramsite, and activated carbon. Media clarifiers are suitable for treating some special water qualities and high-concentration wastewater.

Centrifugal clarifier: A centrifugal clarifier uses centrifugal force to cause suspended solids in water to settle, thus clarifying the water. Centrifugal clarifiers are suitable for treating water with high concentrations of suspended solids and fine particles.
